Primary Science Workshops @ Lifetime Lab

Primary schools children participate in hands on science investigations, discovering topics such as Energy, Electricity and Magnetism, Forces, Materials, Rocks and Soils, the Senses and many more. Our primary science workshops focus on the skills, concept development and content objectives of the SESE Science Curriculum. Throughout the design of the hands on workshops we are mindful of the primary science activities presented would be modelled on and represent feasible classroom practice. All Lifetime Lab education programmes are accredited by Discover Primary Science and Maths and may be used to apply for the award of primary science and maths excellence. Full details >>

MathWorks Mobile

MathsWorks @ Lifetime Lab aims to demonstrate and explore a multisensory approach to the learning of mathematics and is a stimulating and fun introduction to elementary maths. MathsWorks motives pupils to engage maths through sight, sound, touch and movement. Each workshop will include a short presentation before participating in a series of fun hands math’s based puzzles, games and activities covering topics such as multiplication, symmetry, problem solving and transformations. Science Workshops & Tours @ CIT Blackrock Castle Observatory

Schools can visit Blackrock Castle for a tour or workshop all year round. Our science exhibition, Comet Chaser Cinema show and on-site planetarium will inspire and enthuse your students. Crime Lab Club

Crime Lab Club is a self-delivery pack which we supply to schools and after school clubs. It comes packed with all you need to deliver fun, hands-on crime scene investigation experiences to your students with the minimum of fuss and preparation for you, yet the maximum amount of fun learning for your students. Each pack has all the materials and comprehensive lesson plans for 6 one hour sessions where students will engage in fingerprinting, scene searching, casting thumbs, code breaking, poison pens and forensic dentistry. Dino Lab Club

Dino lab Club is a self-delivery pack which we supply to schools and after school clubs. It comes packed with all you need to deliver fun, hands-on adventures learning about our prehistoric world to your students, with the minimum of fuss and preparation for you, yet the maximum amount of fun learning for your students. Each pack has all the materials and comprehensive lesson plans for 6 one hour sessions where students will engage in activities such digging for dinosaur bones, building volcanoes, learning about and making fossils, and building a dinosaur! Exploring Primary Science Teacher Summer Course

‘Exploring Primary Science’ is a summer course for primary school teachers run by Una Leader of Lifetime Lab. The course will run from 3rd – 7th July at Lifetime Lab, Old Cork Waterworks, Lee Road,Cork Building on the success of Lifetime Lab’s science workshops for primary school classes, this will be very much a practical course with examples of hands on activities using everyday items that can be used in the classroom to develop science skills and concepts and encourage discovery and investigation. LEGO Senior Robotics Camp

Blast off for the red planet with Learn it on a Mission to Mars Robotics Challenge. A week long exciting way to bring Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) concepts to life for the over-11s. Senior Robotics from Learn it, the only official partner of LEGO® Education in Ireland, enables students to discover Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics in a fun, engaging, hands-on way. The summer camp combines LEGO building with software and project activities, to allow participants to design, programme and control robots, to plan, test and modify sequences of instructions from a variety of real-life robotic behaviours.
