The Sligo Science Festival will open with the annual Science Fair at the Institute of Technology, Sligo on Sunday 13th November 2016. This family event provides a wide range of interactive displays and demonstrations that explain science in a fun way. A number of workshops for children will be hosted in both town and county during the week. Activities will include art classes, nature trails, meditation, and fun explosions!!!!

A lunchtime and evening lecture series will be delivered in a variety of venues around town and county. A variety of topics will be presented including forensics, cancer research, bird-ringing, plastics in the marine environment, Irish Science Heroes, obesity, and Irish seaweeds. The week will conclude with a celebration of Science in the community including events such as the Carrowkeel Archaeology Walk.
