How to start a hi-tech or biotech company is the theme of a one-day conference which is planned for University College Cork (UCC) on Tuesday 9 June.
Chris Horn, founder of Iona Technologies, will present the keynote address on entrepreneurship and innovation while Cormac Kilty, founder of Biotrin, will discuss the pillars for success in creating a business. Case studies will be presented by technology entrepreneurs while other speakers will focus on themes such as team building, financial supports, developing a business plan and raising venture capital.
The conference is being organised by the Alimentary Pharmabiotic Centre at UCC. It is targeting graduates, PhD students, business people and others with a science or technology background who are interested in starting a new business.
