The BEES blog

The School of Biological, Earth & Environmental Sciences (BEES) at University College Cork (UCC) has launched a new blog about cutting edge research by its staff and students.

Among its latest entries:

  • Zoology student Moira Reilly writes about her recent work experience for her degree – an internship at the Birds of Prey Centre in Co Clare
  • Dr Emer Rogan talks about bottlenose dolphins – of which Dingle’s Fungi is perhaps the best known one in Irish waters
  • Research into climate change and ice sheets that was showcased in a recent issue of Nature

BEES researchers will also be presenting their latest research at the Irish Environmental Researchers’ Colloquium (ENVIRON 2011) on 6-8 April. This is Ireland’s largest annual gathering of environmental researchers, with over 300 researchers expected to attend the event at UCC.
