Design a super everyday invention and you could be in with a chance to win a solar-powered backpack and a science show for your school. We need you to design an invention that could improve your everyday life or the lives of people around you and your environment.

Your school could also be in with a chance to win €500 in an “Ancient Experiments” competition being organised by Marsh’s Library in Dublin.

The competition takes its inspiration from a 1743 poster advertising a series of “Curious Experiments”, and contestants have to recreate some of the experiments and make a YouTube video of them.

There is also a Science Week poster competition for post-Junior Cert students in Cork City and County. It’s being organised by the GSK Cork Science Forum.

Read more about all these competitions on the Science Week website.
