This year’s annual Science Snaps photography competition for secondary schools is looking for entries in the run-up to Science Week 2009.

The prizes from Hewlett Packard, DELL and CPL include a laptop and digital cameras. An exhibition of selected entries will take place during Science Week on 8 to 15 November.

Bus Éireann will also be displaying the winning photographs on local commuter routes throughout the country.

How to take part

The competition is being run by the Tyndall National Institute at UCC and is open to all second-level students.

“This year’s Science Week theme is ‘Celebrating Creativity and Innovation’,” says Tyndall’s Outreach Officer, Aoife O’Donoghue. “The aim of the competition is to inspire students to use their imagination when illustrating the creativity and innovation which enhances our lives.”

The closing date for entries is 16 October 2009 and winners will be announced during Science Week 2009.
