The RDS has established a fund for educators to develop science demonstration lectures for primary and secondary students.
The funding is awarded on a competitive basis for the demonstrations that best explore creative ways of encouraging students to see science as exciting, challenging and fun.
These bursaries, of up to €1,500, are open to those working in industry, education or as science communicators who want to develop innovative and engaging science and maths demonstration lectures for young people.
Recipients of the funding are required to conduct the demonstration lecture as part of the RDS Science Live Demonstration Lecture series, which will be held in the RDS in October and November.
The deadline for applications for the funding is Tuesday, 12 April 2011.
For further information and to submit an application visit the RDS website or contact science[at]rds[dot]ie.
