This year is the 40th anniversary of the first Moon landing, and as part of the celebrations the US space agency Nasa is inviting secondary school teachers to a one-day online conference.

The teachers will join experts from the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum next Tuesday, 10 November, to examine the remarkable technologies that made the moon landings possible.

The conference will also explore ways to teach students how to use primary source materials.

Admission is free, but registration is required. The virtual conference takes place from 11am to 5pm Eastern Standard Time, but for teachers in Ireland there will still be a chance to catch up with the conference sessions.

These will all be recorded and archived so you can play them at any time.
