Irish technology on Galileo satellites

Along with The National Space Centre in Cork, six Irish companies were involved in preparing components for two of Europe’s Galileo satellites, which were launched today from a spaceport in French Guiana, South America.

The satellites will bring Europe an independent source of satellite navigation and this is estimated to be worth up to €90 billion to the EU economy in the next 20 years.

The Irish companies involved on the Galileo project provide aerospace communications, sensor systems, software, IT project management and other services. They are:
