Teachers from five Irish schools are taking part in the Microsoft Partners in Global Learning Forum in Washington DC. The forum, which runs from the 7 to 10 November, celebrates creativity and innovation in the classroom.
Hundreds of teachers from around the world attend the event, which fosters collaboration and demonstrates how the teaching and learning processes can be improved through the use of technology.
St Philomena’s Primary School in Bray, Scoil Chonglais Post-Primary School in Baltinglass (Wicklow), St Mary’s College (Derry), Ballyclare High School and Carrickfergus Model Primary School (Antrim) are all involved in projects aimed at improving learning through technology.
The projects range from sharing research studies using Web 2.0 technologies, to educational collaborations with third-level institutions, teaching pupils media and graphic design skills and providing computer applications classes.
