Meteorologist Evelyn Cusack recently launched the “Dublin By Numbers” walking trails as part of Maths Week 2011 and Innovation Dublin 2011. The free downloadable trails, created by science journalist Mary Mulvihill, offer users the opportunity to rediscover some of Dublin’s best known historical sites through a mathematical lens.
There are three themed walks and each trail has a corresponding digital booklet packed with interesting facts, maps, puzzles and challenges for all ages. As you walk you will learn more about the rich scientific history of Dublin city.
The first trail, “Art, arches and architecture” introduces users to the shapes and geometry of St Stephen’s Green. For more information or to download the free materials, visit Ingenious Ireland.
