Students across Ireland are invited to take part in a digital photo competition about astronomical subjects, called “Eye on the Sky” to mark the International Year of Astronomy 2009.
Dublin City University’s School of Physical Sciences and its National Institute for Plasma Science and Technology are running the competition, which has three categories: schools, general and DCU students.
The closing date for the all-island competition is 1 September 2009. The organisers say entries must feature an astronomical subject, “not just atmospheric phenomena”.
Three prizes will be awarded per category, and an extra class prize for schools. The awards ceremony will be held during Science Week in November 2009 at DCU.
