Lifetime Lab, Cork

Its attractions include a modern interactive exhibition, steam centre, themed playground, and beautifully restored buildings and equipment.

The waterworks supplied water to Cork city from the 1760s onwards. The original buildings and machinery have been carefully restored and are now being used to tell the story of where water comes from and how vital it is for our everyday lives.

Fota Wildlife Park, Co Cork

Children to learn through exploration and discovery at Fota’s hands-on environmental and conservation workshops. The focus is on woodland ecology in the Discover Science Centre workshops.

Killarney National Park Education Centre, Co Kerry

The park’s Education Centre at Knockreer House has a Primary School Nature Day Programme to learn about the environment in a fun and interactive way. Activities are primarily woodland based, including pond-dipping, scavenger hunts, mammal traps and plenty of games.

The education centre’s primary school activities are all curriculum linked and encourage children to explore the natural world around them. Woodland, pond and river habitats are all easily accessed in an extensive range of activities.

Kerry Earth Education Project (KEEP) is based at Gortbrack Organic Farm. In its outdoor classroom, children explore various aspects of our natural environment and organic food production through observing, investigating and recording.
